A Brief History of E-Learning

In the history of E-learning, it is important to note that there is no single evolutionary tree and single agreed definition of E-learning (Paul Nicholson, 2007).
E-learning began at the same time that computer was developed that practical for personal use. That is almost 100 years history. England is the first country that offer the short courses through e-mail in 1840. This method of distance learning started popular in the early part of the last century.
At the beginning, E- learning was a part of the class environment education type. After personal computer became available, E- learning started explored by some pioneering Colleges and Universities.
Nowadays, E-learning technology has improved and have the ability to create the virtual classrooms and virtual learning environment (VLE). This process has been helped by the latest technology and become more popular in the new generation.
E-Learning is mostly use of the internet or computer networks such as LAN, WAN, MAN for the purpose of providing education. It's can come through by CD-ROM program, satellite broadcast or interactive television. In fact, newer and more efficient features turn E-Learning into a trend of educational curriculum.
